Fair Value Gap scanner

FVG scanning with lifecycle, mitigation and market context

A Fair Value Gap scanner detects gaps in a three-candle price pattern. LiquidMind's FVG tooling goes beyond finding the original zone: it tracks mitigation, age, distance to price and multi-timeframe context for agent analysis. FVG detection is deterministic; AI interprets the resulting evidence. This page describes tooling inside LiquidMind, not a standalone free scanner or trading signal feed.

Detection starts with closed candles

A bullish FVG exists when the third candle's low is above the first candle's high; the bearish relation is reversed. The zone is bounded by those prices. LiquidMind's analytical contract uses closed candles for formation so an unfinished candle does not become a confirmed new gap.

A detected gap changes over time

Mitigation is wick-based and includes the live candle. A partially filled gap remains active until fill reaches 100%. The analytical output distinguishes fresh, lightly mitigated, partially mitigated and deeply mitigated zones, so an original chart box is not mistaken for unchanged evidence.

  • Zone boundaries and formation time
  • Fill percentage and mitigation state
  • Age in closed candles and relation to price
  • Nearest active support/resistance zones across requested timeframes

Quality is a heuristic, not a win rate

The versioned quality model separates formation quality from current usefulness after age and mitigation. Missing critical inputs produce insufficient-data status rather than an invented score. The 0–100 heuristic has no validated interpretation as the probability of a profitable trade.

From a gap to a setup assessment

The agent combines FVG observations with market structure, liquidity, displacement and configured risk checks. A gap by itself does not authorize an order. Opposing zones may be reaction risks rather than automatic vetoes; technical route and execution validation still matter.

Frequently asked questions

Does every Fair Value Gap get filled?

No. The geometric pattern does not promise a future return to the zone or a profitable reaction.

Does AI detect the gap geometry?

LiquidMind uses deterministic price-pattern tools to calculate zones; the agent can interpret those observations in broader context.

Is the FVG score a probability?

No. It is a versioned, unvalidated heuristic ranking. Missing evidence can make a score unavailable.
