Strategy Guardrails/
RSI Overheated
TL;DR
A critical safeguard: this guardrail halts Long entries if RSI exceeds 85, and Short entries if RSI drops below 15 — extreme territory indicating unsustainable momentum.
✓ RSI IN RANGE
✗ RSI OVERHEATED (>85)
How It Works
- 1
Extreme Readings: While RSI can stay overbought/oversold during strong trends, readings above 85 (Long) or below 15 (Short) represent extreme irrationality beyond the standard 70/30 bands.
- 2
Contrary Execution: Buying when RSI is at 91 means buying when retail FOMO is at absolute peak. The algorithm prefers to enter on retracements, not at the tip of a spike.
- 3
Action: Execution is paused. The POI remains active, but order firing is deferred until RSI returns to a normalized tradable band.
This is a blunt-force trauma filter. It stops the system from buying at the absolute top of a parabolic blow-off candle, ensuring entries happen in pockets of liquidity, not spikes of emotion.
